Deflategate
“Poll Suggests Patriots’ Tom Brady Took Image Hit From NFL Deflate-Gate”

Last season during the AFC Championship game the New England Patriots used deflated footballs during the game. The balls are supposed to be inflated to a certain air pressure and after the game the balls were checked and were not filled properly. Tom Brady supposedly was the on who told the ball boy to deflate the footballs to make them easier to catch. Brady was suppose to serve a 4 game suspension for his involvement in the scandal. However he appealed the suspension, took it to court and won. Now he is eligible to play in Week 1.
This affects me because I don’t think it’s fair that he can get away with cheating. Just because he is Tom Brady doesn’t mean he should be able to cheat and get away with it. Growing up I was always taught to not cheat, I think everyone is. For him to cheat, people know that he cheated, to get a punishment for cheating, and then not have to have the punishment taken away isn’t fair. It isn’t fair to the people he cheated against, it isn’t fair to other people that have been caught doing something wrong and had to serve their punishment.
To the world it shows that if you are a certain person and enough people like you, you can get away with almost anything. For example a few days later a player from the Broncos was facing a 4 game suspension for domestic violence, he went to court and was proven that his domestic violence case was false and he was innocent, however he stilled has to serve his 4 game suspension. He said “My name isn’t Brady” Meaning that if Tom Brady would have done what he did he would not have had to serve the suspension. I agree with him. This also shows that cheating is accepted. Even when you get caught cheating people just kind of brush it off like it’s not a big deal.
